Free Dratini Crochet Tutorial | Pokemon

แพทเทิร์นภาษาไทยด้านล่าง

The first video of 2018! Sorry for disappearing for so long. This video is the catch-up video for January. So you can expect 3 more videos before the end of April, I will try to make it possible. Hope you guys like the tutorial. And please tell me if you think there is anything I can improve for the future videos.

A little announcement here, from the next video onward, Patrons person who supports the channel through Patreon will get some privileges by being able to access the tutorial 1 week early than others. It's fine if you are not Patron, you'll be able to access the video and written pattern as per usual. If you are interested to become a Patrons you can check the privileges you'll get here. Or you can easily support the channel by sharing the videos. :)

Back to our main topic, it's Dratini, a cute little water dragon pokemon. I remember there's one comment requesting this tutorial long long time ago and finally, it's happening. Makkachin - Yuri!!! on ice - Free crochet pattern

It's a poodle dog, his name is Makkachin! This little dog from anime Yuri on ice, is so precious. So I decide to crochet him. This finished doll's body is a little shorter than the one in picture, but it my intention to do that! I think smaller body Makkachin is more suitable as a key chain that the long body one. :D

Picture from http://yurionice.wikia.com

At first, I was thinking about using some fluffy yarn. But after thinking thoroughly, if I do that, how can people seeing the stitches!? So I change back to my usual yarn. I try my best to find the most similar yarn color that I have in my stock, still a little bit more yellow side.

He's harder than I thought he would be, especially his cheek! But in the end I manage to finished him and share this pattern with you guys. Hope you enjoy!

Rnd3: 1 ch, sc in next 12 stitch, sl :: 12 stitches

Join both cheek together

Fasten off.

Tongue is very small, you can alternatively cut red felt sheet then sewing instead.

Nose
3 ch, sl in the 2nd ch from hook, sl in next chain.
Fasten off.

The same way with tongue, I feel like Makkachin's nose should be smaller than this, so if you have felt sheet you can cut it into the shape of dog's nose and glue it, instead of crochet it like me.

Rnd2: 1 ch, [2 sc in next stitch] 6 times, sl :: 12 stitches
Rnd3: 1 ch, [sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next stitch] 6 times, sl :: 18 stitches

Rnd13: 1 ch, [sc in next stitch, sc2tog] 4 times, sl :: 8 stitches
Rnd14: 1 ch, [sc2tog] 4 times, sl :: 4 stitches
Fasten off.
** For "puff" see the abbreviation above.

Tail
Rnd1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the 1st chain, sl :: 6 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch, [sc in next stitch, 2 sc in next stitch] 3 times, sl :: 9 stitches
Rnd3 -Rnd7: 1 ch, sc in next 9 stitch, sl :: 9 stitches
Rnd8: 1 ch, [sc in next stitch, sc2tog] 3 times, sl :: 6 stitches
Rnd9: 1 ch, [sc2tog] 3 times, sl :: 3 stitches
Fasten off.

After finished crochet every parts, sew them together. Or if you not familiar with sewing, you can also gluing them. But be careful not to put too much glue, so it not clearly visible and reduce chance to dirty other part.

If you want a bigger version of him, easiest way is to increase the yarn size and hook size. Or if you don't want to by new yarn, use the same yarn but crochet 2 strand of yarn together at the same time with bigger hook. Modify the pattern is also an option, but in this case please give some credit to this original post of Mkkachin.

That's it! If you have any question or trouble during crochet him, comment here or under the tutorial video, I will answer with the best I can. See you next post.

Free Pikachu Crochet Tutorial and Pattern.

Sorry for my 2 weeks long disappear, I was preparing for moving to Edinburgh for my Master course. I was so busy that I confusedly delete some scene in this Pikachu Tutorial. But lucky me that the delete part is sewing scene not the crochet part.

Even thought the open semester is coming, but I will keep the channel going on with at lease 2 videos per month. :)

Let's move the topic back to our doll today, it's Pikachu! I think most people have heard of the name Pikachu, even though they are not watching its anime or playing the game.

I really love how this pikachu turn out, but there's a lot of people around me said they prefer the pikachu that have rounder face, like more to the chibi version(like Charmander pattern) more. But I want him to be more resemble to actual character, so I made this. While I was crochet him, I never expect him to be this cute! I hope you guys like it too.

Sewing arms and feet can be annoying job for many people, and if you are not familiar with sewing you doll may not turn out as you want. Tip is to make sure that they are symmetry for both arms and legs

Change color to brown
Rnd9 - Rnd12: 1 ch, sc in next 3 stitch, turn
Fasten off.

Optional, if you feel like the tail is too thin, and want it to be more thick, you can crochet another same pattern piece. Then sewing them together to add the thickness.

Cheek Start with Red
Rnd1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the 1st chain, sl :: 6 stitches
Fasten off.

Optional for cheek, if you have red felt sheet, you can cut it into circular shape and use it as a cheek part instead of crochet them.

After finished crochet every parts, the most important assemble is the face! Eventough you mass up on sewing arms and legs, or your hand tension was not equal during crochet process. The most important things is you have to make sure the face of the doll is cute! Using pins to guide where you are going to stitch or embroidery first hand before doing the real job. And if you are running out of idea how to make his face, just simple smile with symmetrical face components is enough. The key here is symmetry.

Cannot find safety eye!!
Alternative way for making eye, you can either do embroidery, or crochet them. Or if you have felt sheet, cut it into circle and sewing or glue them to make eyes.

Hope you enjoy the pattern, any problems during making him, comment below or under tutorial video. I will try answer you as fast as I can. :)

But for part 2, half of the tutorial was not edit. Because program screen turn white every time I trim the video, so I just added subtitle to it. If any of you can suggest new easy using video editing program for me, I would be so grateful.

This is my second free minion pattern, this time smaller, but cuter. It's Bob and he come with his little teddy bear. :)

Embroidery mouth in to the shape that you want.

To be honest I don't like his finished face, I prefer pikachu with mouth close. But my brother, he said he want pikachu to smile mouth open wide. So I end up made what he requested.

Additionally, if you love Pikachu I have a paid pattern available on my pattern store, both craftsy and etsy. For anyone who want a huge pikachu to cuddle. :)

Crochet Stepping Texture Hat preparing for next winter

It was the hottest week in Thailand when I was crochet this hat. The temperature was exceed 40 degree Celsius all the week, and I crochet a winter hat. lol

I am going to take a Master course at Edinburgh starting next September, and I have no idea how cold it would be. Here in Thailand, winter, I experience 18-25 degree Celsius but after I surf around Internet, I found summer in Scotland is about 20 degree Celsius! I start to worry about winter season, so I decide to crochet some hat for myself.

I found free pattern here from Crochet Crowd, and he work on the tutorial really well, so I decided to not record any tutorial while I was crochet it.

I used 8.0 mm. crochet hook, with my regular yarn( Eagle brand, 4 ply worsted weight) 5 strands at the same time. I am very pleasure with the result of hat's body. But I later realize that if I use one big strand yarn to make the pom pom, I will turn rounder and look better.

For those of you who don't know this character. It's Charmander from pokemon series. Charmander is one of the three starter pokemon. I didn't made him to look exactly as he is in game or anime, I change his appearance according to my junior's request. Make him more to the cute side, and the result is what you are seeing now in the picture. I hope you like this pattern.

Sewing arms and feet can be annoying job for many people, and if you are not familiar with sewing you doll may not turn out as you want. Tip is to make sure that they are symmetry for both arms and legs, left and right. You can also glue them, if you really hate sewing, but be careful not to put too much glue, so it not clearly visible and reduce chance to dirty other part.

After that, the most important assemble is the face! Even tough you mass up on sewing arms and legs, or your hand tension was not equal during crochet process. The most important things is you have to make sure the face of the doll is cute! Using pins to guide where you are going to stitch or embroidery first hand before doing the real job. And optional choice, adding pink cheek under the eyes area, this things add load of cuteness to Charmander.

Cannot find safety eye!!
Alternative way for making eye, you can either do embroidery, or crochet them. Or if you have felt sheet, cut it into circle and sewing or glue them to make eyes.

For it's fire tail, use yarn indicator brush to brush the yarn out. But if you cannot find yarn brush you can substitute it with dog slicker brush(that have the same structure as the picture below)

Now Charmander is finished! you can either attach keychain to it, or just left him as decorated doll. If you want a bigger doll, double the strand of yarn and crochet with bigger hook. These three pokemons are really fun to made simple and fast. And good for present to all the pokemon fan.
