Rirakkuma Bear from San-X Crochet Pattern

Hello everyone. I am so sorry for a long disappear. I was working on my master dissertation and after that, I was busy packing and preparing for moving back to Thailand. This tutorial is one of the most annoying for video editing(laugh and cry at the same time). The file is big because I increased the resolution to 1080p, so I have to divide the video into chunks. These big chunks are making my editing program lacking so much, and losing my progress a couple of time. Eventually, I am successful editing it! And the final video file is 14.8GB, OMG, it ginormous! The first attemp to upload this video was fail and it stuck at the processing process for 22 hours, so I have to re-upload it for the second time.

This tutorial is a bear called "Rilakkuma" (リラックマ Rirakkuma). It is a Japanese character from company San-X. Even though you don't know its name, but I think you will still like the way it looks. I am so satisfied the result and hope you like it too. Ok, let's head to the pattern and tutorial section.

MATERIALS:
4 ply worsted weight yarn, I used local brand named "Eagle"
3.5mm. or E size hook, I am using Japanese clover hook.

ABBREVIATION
sc- single crochet
sl- slip stitch
ch- chain
st - stitch
inc - increase = 2 sc in same stitch
sc2tog - decrease single crochet
[ ] - repeat instruction in parenthesis for the number of time.
BLO - Back loop only

Body, start from legs with yellow yarn.

Legs
Start with yellow yarn.
Rnd1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the 1st ch, sl :: 6 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch, inc in next 6 st, sl :: 12 stitches

Change color to brown.
Rnd3: BLO, 1 ch, sc in next 12 st, sl :: 12 stitches
Rnd4 - Rnd7: 1 ch, sc in next 12 st, sl :: 12 stitches
Fasten off the first leg, and repeat from Rnd1 to Rnd7,
do not fasten off the second leg, continued working on Rnd8.

Join both leg together.
Rnd8: 1 ch, sc in next 24 st, sl :: 24 stitches
Rnd9 - Rnd15: 1 ch, sc in next 24 st, sl :: 24 stitches
Rnd16: 1 ch, [sc in next 4 st, sc2tog] 4 times, sl :: 20 stitches
Rnd17: 1 ch, sc in next 20 st, sl :: 20 stitches
Rnd18: 1 ch, [sc in next 3 st, sc2tog] 4 times, sl :: 16 stitches
Fasten off

Head 
start with brown yarn.
Rnd1: 4 ch, sc on the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next st, 3sc in next st, sc in next st, inc, sl :: 8 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch, inc, sc in next st, inc in next 3 st, sc in next st, inc in next 2 st, sl :: 14 stitches
Rnd3: 1 ch, [sc in next st, inc] 4 times, sc in next 3 st, inc, sc in next st, inc, sl :: 20 stitches
Rnd4: 1 ch, sc in next st, inc, sc in next 5 st, inc, sc in next 2 st, inc, sc in next 5 st, inc, sc in next 2 st, sl :: 24 stitches
Rnd5: 1 ch, [sc in next 3 st, inc] 6 times, sl :: 30 stitches
Rnd6 - Rnd8: 1 ch, sc in next 30 st, sl :: 30 stitches
Rnd9: 1 ch, [sc in next 4 st, inc] 6 times, sl :: 36 stitches
Rnd10: 1 ch, sc in next 36 st, sl :: 36 stitches
Rnd11: 1 ch, [sc in next 4 st, sc2tog] 6 times, sl :: 30 stitches
Rnd12: 1 ch, sc in next 30 st, sl :: 30 stitches
Rnd13: 1 ch, [sc in next 3 st, sc2tog] 6 times, sl :: 24 stitches
Rnd14: 1 ch, [sc in next 2 st, sc2tog] 6 times, sl :: 18 stitches
Rnd15: 1 ch, [sc in next st, sc2tog] 6 times, sl :: 12 stitches
Rnd16: 1 ch, [sc2tog] 6 times, sl :: 6 stitches
Leave some lenght of yarn and fasten off.

Arms
Start with brown yarn.
Rnd1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the 1st ch, sl :: 6 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch, [sc in next st, inc] 3 times, sl :: 9 stitches
Rnd3 - Rnd8: 1 ch, sc in next 9 stitch, sl :: 9 stitches
Leave some lenght of yarn and fasten off.


Ears consist of 2 pieces.
Outer ear (brown)
Rnd1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the 1st ch, sl :: 6 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch, inc in next 6 st, sl :: 12 stitches
Rnd3 - Rnd4: 1 ch, sc in next 12 st, sl :: 12 stitches
Leave some lenght of yarn and fasten off.

Inner ears (yellow)
Rnd1: 2 ch, 6 sc in the 1st ch, sl :: 6 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch,[sl in next st, 2 sl in next st] 3 times, :: 12 stitches
Leave some lenght of yarn and fasten off.

Sewing both colors of ear together.

Eyes (Black yarn)
Rnd1: 2 ch, 4 sc in the 1st ch, sl :: 4 stitches
Leave some lenght of yarn and fasten off.

Face(white)
Rnd1: 4 ch, sc on the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next st, 3sc in next st, sc in next st, inc, sl :: 8 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch, sl in next st, 2 sl in next 4 st, sl in next st, 2 sl in next 2 st :: 14 stitches
Leave some lenght of yarn and fasten off.

Then embroidery its mouth, for the details.

Belly (White)
Rnd1: 5 ch, sc on the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 st, 3sc in next st, sc in next 2 st, inc, sl :: 10 stitches
Rnd2: 1 ch, inc, sc in next 2 st, inc in next 3 st, sc in next 2 st, inc in next st, sl :: 16 stitches
Rnd3: 1 ch, sc in next st, inc, sc in next 2 st, [sc in next st, inc] 3 times, sc in next 2 st, [sc in next st, inc] 2 times, sl :: 22 stitches
Leave some lenght of yarn and fasten off.

Tail
